Entra ID (formerly Active Directory) is a central database containing people’s information that is used to authenticate them on a network.
Entra ID stores computers and other resources in its database, but for the intranet, we focus only on people-related information. This data allows us to automatically populate profiles, manage access, create and delete accounts, and enable single sign-on.
