Scheduled homepages let you control who sees which version of a homepage, and when. They work for your main business homepage and for any area homepage.
For example, you could show new starters a different homepage in their first few weeks, or prepare a homepage for a big event and schedule it to go live on the day.
This guide will walk you through creating a scheduled homepage and choosing when, to whom and on which devices it shows.
This guide covers:
Before you start:
- You must be assigned a Homepage Manager for the area.
- The area must already have a published homepage in order to create scheduled homepages.
- Check who has permission to view the area's content, as this affects who can see its homepages.
Creating a scheduled homepage
- On the published homepage, go to the Page Options (three vertical dots in the top-right corner) and select Manage homepages.
- Select Create a scheduled homepage. To quickly clone your existing homepage, select the three horizontal dots next to it and duplicate.
- Choose a template, or clone an existing homepage. Cloning saves time if you only need to make a few changes.
- The homepage will open in edit mode. Make your changes. You can select Save and exit to come back to it later.
- Select Publish. You'll be taken to the Homepage Manager page.
Choosing when, who and which devices
- New scheduled homepages appear at the bottom of the Inactive scheduled homepages list.
- Select the name already provided and type a new name.
- Select All the time to choose when the homepage should show, then select OK.
- Select No one to choose who should see it. Make your choice in the object picker and select Confirm. Once an audience is chosen, the scheduled homepage becomes active.
-
To show it on certain devices only, select Any device type and choose the device types.
- Review your settings and select Save.
Considerations, tips & guidance
- Order matters: you can have as many scheduled homepages as you like. If someone is in the audience for two at the same time, they'll see the one highest in the list.
- Think mobile: if many of your people use the mobile app, a scheduled homepage built on the single-column template gives them a better experience. See How to optimise your homepages for the mobile app.
