The Oak Mobile App allows you to stay connected whilst on the go, whether it's finding a policy, scrolling news and Moments, or keeping in touch with colleagues.
This guide covers:
Before you start:
- You'll need the correct permissions to be able to pair with the mobile app. If you're unsure if you have this or you're having trouble logging into the app, please reach out to your organisation's HR/Comms team, or the team who manage the intranet
- Download the Oak app on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Alternatively, use any download links provided by your organisation; they may have a custom app that is in your company branding.
Pairing your account with the app
You may have received login information or pairing instructions from your organisation. After this, we've made pairing simple.
-
When you first open the Oak app, you’ll be asked to enter your organisation’s domain (for example, example.oak.com). Your organisation may have already provided you with the domain.
If you have previously logged into the intranet on a desktop device, you can find your organisation’s domain within the URL showing in the internet browser.
Note: If your organisation has a custom app that shows the company logo on your mobile homepage, you will not be required to provide the domain.
-
Once the domain has been entered, click Continue. You'll then be asked to input your email address to sign-in, or alternatively tap Or use alternative methods to sign-in using the QR code (from your desktop profile) or pairing code (from your desktop profile or a received email)
-
For the alternative methods, scan the QR code with your phone or type in the pairing code.
-
If you’re logging in with your email address, you’ll receive an email with a link to sign in instantly. Check your inbox on your mobile device and tap the link in the email to continue. You may see a pop-up asking which browser you’d like to open the link with. Tap Default browser and you’ll then be redirected to the Oak app installed on your device.
Note: If you haven’t received the email, please allow time for it to be delivered and check your spam or junk folder.
-
Once logged in, you'll then be asked to agree to the terms and conditions, set up Face/Touch ID, with the option for an app PIN for extra security. Tap in your memorable PIN and toggle on/off if you would like to use Face/Touch ID for faster unlocking.
- When accessing the app in the future, it will automatically log you in using Face/Touch ID. If this hasn't been set up, enter your PIN to unlock.
Exploring the app
After logging into the app, you'll land on the main homepage of the intranet. You'll find different pages along the top ribbon of the app. Scroll left and right on this ribbon and click into the different pages to explore.
The intranet's main locations will be displayed along the bottom of the app. This includes Home, Search, Hubs, Moments, Messenger, and Aria Search. Depending on your organisation's intranet, this bottom section may vary.
To view the main navigation menu, tap on the three stacked lines in the bottom-right corner. Here you can create and upload content, explore the manage and configure menus, and browse the main navigation areas.
To view your profile, tap on your profile image in the top-right, where you can check notifications and tasks, alongside managing your profile and device settings.
