Stay on brand with a customised site icon (also known as a favicon). Every website you visit has a site icon, and you can create one to match your branding and reinforce your identity. It adds a bespoke touch to your site while making it easier for users to identify and navigate between browser tabs.
Before you start:
- You must be assigned the Site Manager security permission.
- For your site icon, have a square 16×16 or 32×32 pixel PNG file ready to upload.
- Enable the site icon as a feature in your applications list. Go to the Actions button and then Configure. From the menu, select Site Settings and navigate to Applications. From here, find Site Icon and toggle on. Don't forget to click OK at the bottom to save the changes.
Uploading your icon
- As a System Manager, go to the Actions button followed by Configure. From the menu, select Site Settings and then Branding. You'll arrive on the themes page.
- Find the theme you'd like to update and click on the three vertical dots on the right. Select Edit.
Top tip: You can have different site icons for different audiences; this can be set within the different branding themes.
On the edit theme page, scroll down to find the Site icon. Underneath, click on the Change Icon button.
- The media picker will open, allowing you to upload and choose your icon. Select OK to confirm the selection.
- Once you are happy with the new site icon, click Submit at the bottom of the page to save the theme and apply the changes to the site. Ensure the theme is active and that the correct audience has been set.
